Many Christian kids in the 70s and early 80s were familiar with Spire Comics.  My brothers and I had almost every one of them.  I still can picture the tiny Christian bookstore we would go to and remember the excitement of picking a new one off the rack.  Some were fun Christian comics like Barney Bear and even Archie with Christian themes.  Several of them told the inspiring stories about Christians such as Brother Andrew, Tom Landry, Andre Crouch, Corrie Ten Boom, and Jim Elliot.  The comic book “Through the Gates of Splendor” telling the story of Jim Elliot in Ecuador was an unexpected way that God used in my family to be a catalyst for our personal participation in missions and our support of missionaries and the proclamation of the gospel in the U.S. and around the globe.

Throughout the Bible we see how God uses individuals to fulfill His divine purposes. His sovereign nature is seen in how God calls, equips, and empowers people to accomplish His will, often in unexpected ways and through unlikely candidates. Join us this week as we look at Paul’s First Missionary journey in the book of Acts.  We will spend a little bit of time learning about some of the missionaries and ministries we support at FaithPoint and consider how God uses each Christ follower to fulfill his kingdom purposes.   Join us in worship at either of our two services (both with Sunday School) at 8:30 and 10:00 AM.  Live Streaming is available at 10:00 AM.
