It has been said, “It’s easier to be ignorant and reliant, than it is to be informed and responsible.” 
My sense is that it’s more convenient today to talk about being a victim, than it is to take responsibility for an incident. This is most unfortunate since success on any major scale, requires we take ownership and accept responsibility. Indeed, responsibility is one quality all successful people take seriously. Jesus was not silent on the topic of responsibility and Paul told the church in Ephesus to “live life with a sense of responsibility.”
