Sometimes when people come to faith in Christ, they are led to believe that all of their problems will cease, and hurt, pain and suffering will be things of the past. If someone, somewhere has fed you a line like that … I don’t know any other way to say it … than they lied.
The first part of Psalm 34:19 says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous …” and we’ll talk about both the first and second part of the Psalm this Sunday. The reality is many faithful, good, Christian people have all kinds of problems and tragedies that come their way in life. There are times of discouragement and heartbreak that can rob us of our courage and hope. This Sunday we’ll look at how Joseph avoided being blinded by despair, and what we can learn from his school of hard knocks.
