It’s human nature to wonder if we are good enough, or if we did enough. Did we study enough to get an A, or pass the course? Did we train enough to win the race or the game? Did we call in early enough for the reservation? Sometimes before I preach, I wonder if I’ve prepared and prayed enough? You get the idea.
What about when it comes to our relationship with God. How much is really enough? Have we been good enough? Do we have enough faith? Is our belief strong enough? Will it be enough to get me through a crisis? At life’s end, were we kind and gracious and generous enough? How good do I need to be to gain entrance to heaven?
This week, we’ll talk about what constitutes “good enough”, as Jesus talks with the Rich Young Ruler as we continue working our way through Mark’s Gospel.
