Somewhere along the line, there has arisen the idea that faith is something that we do… something that we must work at, something that we muster up enough fortitude to complete in order to satisfy God. Jesus would teach us something completely different. We might need a big faith if our God was feeble, small or weak. But our God is big and glorious and beyond our knowing. And yet he loves us so much. And that means it is not the quantity or even quality of our faith that saves us—it’s the object of our faith.
