A peanuts cartoon opens with Lucy sitting at her desk writing line upon line of “I will not talk in class. I will not talk in class …” In frame after frame she repeats the vow ad infinitum. Finally, she reaches the bottom of the page. And under that impressive
pile of promises that she would never again talk in class, she writes: “On the other hand, who knows what I’ll do?” One of the things I love about Charles Schultz is his deep insight into the human predicament. He understands well the unpredictability of our character and conduct.

The Apostle Paul knew this nature well and he writes about it in Romans 7. We’ll talk about it Sunday in our new Series, “Ringing in the New Year: Practice Makes Perfect Progress.” Join us in worship. FaithPoint is located at 1051 270th St. W. New Prague.
