What are your expectations for the Christmas season? Does the season of Christmas ever disappoint because we have misplaced expectations? Someone said to me a few weeks ago that the holidays are all about family. A week later, I talked with a guy who told me he feels he has no family. It begs the question, what about those who are lonely or have no family? Or what about those who have bad memories of family interactions at Christmas?
This week, we’ll look at some of the expectations of some of the key players leading up to the birth of Jesus, namely Elizabeth and Zechariah (parents to John the Baptist), and Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus, and how those expectations relate to what we can expect today.
