Like many of you, I’ve had my share of fears in life. I have also known people who have been overcome with so much fear that they were crippled and could hardly function. Fear is real, and it can be very scary.
Psalm 34:4 says, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” That sounds pretty simple and straightforward. Have you ever been delivered from all your fears?
This Sunday, we hear about the disciples out in a boat when an intense storm arises. The disciples are terrified. Jesus comes to the rescue and calms the storm and the disciples’ fears. But how does that deliverance work? Exactly how does God deliver us from our fears today? We’ll talk about it this Sunday when we see Jesus’ divine power and divine compassion at work in a nasty storm. If you know of someone crippled by fear, invite them to join you in worship.
