In 1991, the Mercedes-Benz automobile company ran an ad describing their safety technology. Although they owned the rights to this revolutionary technology, this commercial highlighted how they freely shared it with other car companies in the interest of promoting safety. The commercial ended with the tag line “Some things in life are too important not to share.”
Last week, we learned about the importance of listening, especially hearing God’s Word, and Jesus’ use of parables. This Sunday, we will look at three other short parables found in Mark 4. Like in the earlier verses of Mark chapter 4, Jesus challenges his listeners to pay attention to what he has to say for he has good news to share about the kingdom of God. This is truly good news; the kind of news that is too important not to share with the world.
