This Sunday is Mother’s Day, and we’ve got a special treat to share with moms and all women to warm their hearts and celebrate this important day. Our Gospel reading in Mark features Jesus calling his first four disciples: Simon Peter and his brother Andrew, and brothers James and John. We don’t know their ages, but we do know that they answered Jesus’ call immediately and without consulting their moms (or dads). We’ll explore what’s behind their response and how their answering the call sets the tone for what is to come next.
