Anthropologists who have studied chimpanzees in the wild have observed that “one chimpanzee is no chimpanzee.” That is, a chimpanzee can develop into a real chimpanzee only in the company of other chimps. Isolated in a zoo, the animal may survive, but it will never develop into its real self.

Human beings live on a higher plane than chimps, but the same lesson applies. “One human being is no human being.” None of us can be truly human in isolation. We were made to belong together; we need each other. In fact, the qualities that make us human emerge only in the ways we relate to other people.

Jesus knew how much we need community and it’s one of the reasons he formed a special community when he called the 12 disciples. This Sunday we’ll continue our series, “It’s Better Together”. Join us in worship at FaithPoint (8:30 & 10:00). We are located at 1051 270th Street West, New Prague, MN. Live Streaming is available at 10:00 AM on our Facebook Page or, on our Live Stream page. Everyone is welcome!
