“Creating a Culture of Honor”
This week our focus will be on Exodus 20:12, the commandment about honoring our parents. I have been thinking a lot of this commandment as our family comes around my grandmother more intentionally. She entered a nursing home last month and now is on hospice. I have primarily considered this commandment in the context of being a child in the home of my parents and parenting our own three kids. There is application to our own nuclear families, but it is far more reaching. This is the only commandment with a promise from God attached to it. It is about creating a culture of honor. Please join us this Sunday for worship at 9:30 am in the New Prague High School auditorium. Through worship and the study of God’s Word together, we will see that the stability of our communities and ultimately our nation depends on the presence of honor in our families.
